1969 Microfrets Thundermaster Bass Style 1 (Orbiter Body) Sunburst

This Microfrets Thundermaster Bass was made in Maryland in the late 1960's. The serial number is 1179 which is the lowest serial number listed on the Microfrets online registry. The model designation on the neck is "Thundermaster" but this bass has an unique single pickup Orbiter style body that was not standard for this model. Given the extremely low serial number, the available information would suggest that this bass is a one of a kind instrument. It also has the built in antenna for FM broadcasting - which is not so useful anymore. We are not sure if the broadcaster works but otherwise this instrument is in very fine playing condition. It shows some light play wear and finish checking but the bass is quite clean overall. It has been pro-setup in our shop and weighs 9 lbs 11 oz. It comes with a non original hard case.
