This is a wonderful Epiphone FT-79 Texan, made by Gibson in the USA in 1959. Gibson acquired Epiphone in 1957 and in 1959 Gibson was making Epiphones in Kalamazoo, but using up Epiphone parts acquired as part of the purchase. As a result, made Epiphones from this period have Gibson made bodies, and an Epiphone made neck. These are wonderful instruments, as the Epiphone necks have a great "V" profile and are really enjoyable to play. This example is from this period. The body is the same as a J-45. The guitar shows HEAVY play wear. There are repaired cracks in the body. Most of the parts are original but nut, bridge pins, and saddle are newer, and it has been refretted. This guitar has been pro-setup in our store and plays great and sounds wonderful. It comes with a non original hard case.
