This Gibson Les Paul Custom was made in the USA in 1955 or 1956. It was professionally refinished a long time ago and the serial number covered up. The pickups, pickguard, and knobs are original. The tuners, bridge, tailpiece, and pots have been changed and all appear to be late 60's Gibson parts (pots date to 1969, bridge is patent number, etc..). We think it is likely this guitar was refinished at Gibson around 1969, and received the new parts at that time, but we cannot be sure. If not done at Gibson, the finish is certainly factory-quality, and but for the missing serial number we would not be able to tell it was refinished at all. There is no evidence of any breaks or repairs to the neck or body, The guitar weighs 8 pounds 11 ounces. It has been refretted with normal sized frets. This guitar has been pro-setup in our store and is a great playing and sounding instrument. It comes with the 50's brown and pink case in the pictures which is in rough condition but functional.
